Thank you for all your amazing efforts with our Story Spoon competition. Your children have been very creative with their characters. We are finding it very tricky to find the winners from over 400 spoons! All children who participated will receive a certificate to reward their efforts. Next week is Book Week and we invite your children to come to school on Thursday 2nd March in their pyjamas with their favourite bedtime story to share in class. Please ensure the book your child brings in is named to avoid any confusion.
Book Fair
Our annual school book fair arrives on Wednesday 1st March and runs until Friday 3rd , 3.15 to 4pm. Your child will be given a £1 book voucher to redeem against the cost of any book from the fair, so please do come along to the Central Area after school and see all the wonderful books available . Please enter via the school office and follow the one way system to payments and then exit via the link doors.
You can pay by cash or card on the day. We will have a card reader for credit/debit payments, a QR code to scan for online payments which require a smartphone or you can also purchase prepaid gift vouchers for your child to use on the day. Details can be found online at https://bookfairs.scholastic.co.uk/parents. Please note we can not accept Apple Pay.
Mr West and the “Wild Things” team have been installing our bird boxes in the garden area. We hope to tempt some local wildlife to make this their new home.
Josie, Harvey, Maddy, Coleson, Ellie, Izzy, Sylvie, Melaniia, Immy, Aliyah, Sebby, and Riley who were our Celebration Assembly Certificate winners this week.
Leanna from Hook Village Wildlife Gardeners Facebook group donated two flowering currants to be planted for pollinating insects in our school grounds. Thank you for your generosity.
The HSCA are very pleased to announce that the 2023 Hook Beer Festival tickets are NOW ON SALE!!! Go to www.pta-events.co.uk/hsca but hurry, as tickets are limited and sell out each year.
Tickets are just £8 and include a commemorative pint glass and raffle ticket. This exciting event has lots of local finely crafted ales and ciders from multiple breweries, other drinks also available as well as delicious pizzas from a hot food vendor and other snacks.
Children have been creative during lunchtimes. We have a fabulous self portrait, one of many in the art gallery. Our tree is also looking beautiful adorned with the bird feeders the children have made from Cheerios and pipe cleaners.
